Residency

Emily Hasler

Cove Park’s programme of Early Career Residencies support UK-based artists in the process of establishing their careers, providing an opportunity for research and the development of new work at this crucial stage. We are pleased this year to offer four residencies to artists specialising in composition/music, crafts/design, literature and visual art. This year, the literature residency has been awarded to London-based writer Emily Hasler.

Emily Hasler’s debut collection, The Built Environment, was published by Pavilion Poetry in 2018. She was born in Suffolk but has washed up on the Essex-side of the river Stour. She has been a Hawthornden Fellow and received an Eric Gregory Award in 2014. A pamphlet, Natural Histories, was published by Salt in 2011. She works as a freelance proofreader and writer, and in a pub.
