Ross Little is a painter and filmmaker based in Glasgow. The 2020 digital video ‘This Is Where The Spirits Tend To Hang Out’ (presented during the artist’s recent solo exhibition at CCA Glasgow) reflects the artist’s longstanding interest in how the land, body and mind are shaped through their relationship to forms of control, both material and immaterial. The artist is also developing new hanging artworks combining sculpture,  painting and prints and is interested in how these pieces work in relation to his film practice.

Ross is one of 11 artists taking part in the Crisis Residency Programme, 2020/21. The residency will provide the time to reflect upon his recent work and in particular to explore questions that emerged during the development of the CCA project, in particular what he describes as ‘how we understand and intuit the interconnected flows of life, be they political, spiritual or material.’ At Cove Park he intends to experiment with footage and interviews captured during the making of ‘The Is Where The Spirits Tend To Hang Out’ and to develop a further film in relation to his research.
