Nicola Lawton (she/her) is a Scotland-based producer working across artform with a specialism in circus. From managing festival stages to intimate theatre performances and small to mid-scale touring her work covers an array of activity over the past decade.

She is now a company director at Scissor Kick Ltd a Glasgow based production company which was set up by Producer Stephanie Katie Hunter, together they produce live experiences nationally and internationally while providing general management services championing artists that make observant and transformative work.

Nicola’s previous work includes award winning No Show by Ellie Dubois (Herald Angel Award 2017) which toured the UK after a successful fringe run and completed a 3-week run at SoHo Theatre and award winning Nosedive by SUPERFAN (Samuel Oxford Beckett Theatre Trust Award 2019) which completed a run at the Barbican.

Nicola’s work at Scissor Kick in collaboration with business partner Stephanie is about not only pushing boundaries of their creative imaginations but finding sustainable ways of working for longevity in the arts and expanding their practice to allow them to put more back into the industry. Their long-term goal is to do this through a hybrid of subsidised and commercial productions so Nicola is excited to start her journey on learning about commercial and Broadway theatre through the Cove Park Creative Producers Residency.
