Duration
Munya Redman-Bayasi is the Senior Programmer at Capital Theatres, leading on the programming for two of Edinburgh’s iconic venues, the Festival Theatre and the King’s Theatre. She collaborates with producers across the UK to bring the biggest productions to Edinburgh, including the UK tours of Hamilton, War Horse, and Matthew Bourne’s Swan Lake. Munya is also part of Capital Theatres’ producing and commissioning team and contributed to the co-production James V: Katherine with Raw Material in 2024.
Before her tenure at Capital Theatres, Munya was Programming and Events Officer for Hull Theatres, overseeing the programming of Hull New Theatre and Hull City Hall. In this role, she championed the programming of new work for underserved communities, including Concrete Youth’s debut production, To the Moon and Back. Her prior experience includes working as Associate Producer for Stand and Be Counted, and as Trainee Producer on Absolutely Cultured’s Hull Independent Producer Initiative, where she facilitated the upskilling of artists by providing training and mentoring, enabling the production of new work in Hull.
‘I look forward to the learning and sharing of knowledge and ideas which will come through this residency, and am excited about how this will inform upcoming co-productions at Capital Theatres, as we strive to bring exciting new work, rooted in Scotland, to audiences across the UK and internationally.’
