Now in its fourth year the Birkbeck / Sophie Warne Fellowship offers an outstanding graduate of the Creative Writing MA at Birkbeck the opportunity of a four-week residency at Cove Park, with space and time to write and the company of professional artists across all disciplines. Previous Fellows include Genevieve Herr and Paul Martin. This years Fellow is Laura Tapsfield.

Laura graduated with a first in English Literature from Queen Mary’s University of London. She completed her MA in Creative Writing at Birkbeck, being awarded a distinction and receiving the Sophie Warne Fellowship. Her short stories have been published in The Mechanic’s Institute Review and she is currently writing her first novel. She lives in south east London with her partner and young daughter.
