Ayda Pakzad Afshar is an Iranian visual artist and curator based in Scotland, working across collage, painting, installation and image-based research. Her practice explores the body as a site where visibility, memory and systems of representation meet. Working with existing images, archival material and found visual language, she cuts, layers, obscures and reassembles them, often developing her research through visual notebooks, material experiments and installation.

Her current long-term project, The Coveration of Eve, examines how the female body is constructed, regulated and interpreted through visual and cultural systems, asking what becomes visible, what disappears, and what remains.

Recent projects include Refusal to Remain Visible, developed during an Interdisciplinary Residency at Hospitalfield, Scotland (2026), and Can the Future Be Saved? (2024), an international digital exhibition she curated and participated in through Creativitism. Her solo exhibition Self-Ending was presented at Shemis Gallery, Tehran (2023).
