Sean Wai Keung is a Glasgow-based poet, interdisciplinary and community artist. His work often uses food as a starting point for explorations of identity, migration, community and hospitality, and he enjoys challenging dominant notions of economics and exchange through participatory meal events. Sean was in residence at Cove Park in 2021 as part of the Scottish Emerging Writer Residency programme where he worked on a series of poems exploring food as a connective device between both people and artforms. Cove Park is welcoming Sean back this Autumn as part of our Associates Early Career Residency programme supported by The Hugh Fraser Foundation, and he will also be participating in the 2023 edition of the Film Art Food Festival ‘Taking Root’ presented in partnership with the Food Lab of the Jan van Eyck Academie, Maastricht and hosted by CCA Glasgow.

Sean has also presented work with organisations including National Theatre of Scotland, Dandelion Festival, and Magma Poetry. His debut poetry collection, ‘sikfan glaschu’ was published by Verve in 2021 and subsequently shortlisted for the 2022 Kavya Prize.
