Ben Ramsay is a writer and director of film and theatre from Kirkcaldy, Fife. He adores genre-driven storytelling, and his work often revolves around darkly comic circumstances, commentary on contemporary life in Scotland, and works that explore pockets of history that are often overlooked.

Recent works include: ‘A Concrete Topiary’, produced by the Almeida Theatre’s ‘Home Stages’ programme for working class artists, ‘The Stag and The Hound,’ produced by the Crunch Collective in Edinburgh, ‘Blackleg’ developed in partnership with Playwright’s Studio Scotland, ‘Varmints’ developed in partnership with SITA Scotland, and ‘Brain-Child,’ produced by Alchemy Arts.

‘With my time at Cove Park, I am researching and developing a draft of a new play focussing on the final day in the life of Canadian physicist Louis Alexander Slotin, a scientist who worked on the Manhattan project and developed an anti-nuclear stance before he was killed by a criticality accident in his lab.’
