Project Studio – Visible Mending

Courtesy of Susan Howells.

We are very pleased to welcome the Helensburgh-based designer Susan Howells to Project Studio this month.

Susan is a creative pattern cutter who has worked with fashion brands such as Cos, Topshop, and Barbour, and with leading fashion designers including Christopher Kane, Raey, and 16Arlington. Working directly in the fashion industry highlighted its culture of disposable products and Susan is keen to share creative ways to prolong the life of our clothes and to keep them out of landfill for as long as possible.

Project Studio is a Cove Park programme for teenagers aged 13-16 in our local area. These free workshops are made possible with a generous award from the National Lottery Community Fund and The Stafford Trust. Launched in June 2023, Project Studio offers free monthly creative activity including workshops, trips, and events centred around self-expression and creating community for teenagers interested in the arts, activism, environmentalism, and wellbeing.

Project Studio takes place at Park Pavilion, Hermitage Park, Helensburgh: read more and book here. For more information on our Project Studios programme please contact Emma Henderson.

This programme is supportive to young people with ADHD, dyslexia, and autism and is supported by the National Lottery Community Find and The Stafford Trust.
