Open Studio & Community BBQ

Luis M S Santos and Nikhil Vettukattil, Open Studio & Community BBQ, July 2024 (photography by Tommy Ga-Ken Wan).

We are extending the hours of our next Open Friday, 12 July 2024, from 1:30 – 6:30pm!

Visitors are welcome to explore our beautiful 50-acre site, meet our six Highland cows, learn more about Cove Park’s Residencies and Creative Learning & Engagement programmes, and meet the team.

From 5pm, we will visit Luis M S Santos’ studio. As his six-week Paulo Cunha e Silva Art Prize Residency comes to an end, Luis will share new ceramic work produced at Cove Park.

The evening will also include a sharing of work in progress by Nikhil Vettukattil – here at Cove Park as part of the NAARCA (Nordic Alliance of Artists’ Residencies on Climate Action) exchange programme. Nikhil is currently developing new work commissioned by NAARCA called ‘Cantina’ where he explores what a healthy, affordable and climate-friendly diet in the Nordics might look like by creating recipes themed around disaster, survival and resistance. As part of his open studio, Nikhil will host a barbeque (light bites & sides) with vegan, vegetarian, and gluten free options.

Open Fridays are free and everyone is welcome. However, please RSVP Alex Marrs at alex@covepark.org if you are planning to attend – only a few spots left!
