HOCP at Home with Artist Lauren Gault
Between 2016 and 2020, Cove Park’s programme of workshops and events for children and young people was known as Hands-On Cove Park. During the Covid-19 crisis and related lockdowns, this programme moved from in-person events at Cove Park, to a series of online activities and creative projects for young people and families at home. Cove Park worked with artists and former residents to devise these free projects, sharing films, leading Zoom workshops, and delivering activity packs and materials to homes in our local area. This work was made possible with support from the Paul Hamlyn Foundation.
Lauren Gault presents ‘LOOK-LENS-SEE-SEA’ – a film based on an idea that initiated during Lauren’s 2014 residency at Cove Park. Her studio has large glass doors and Lauren spent a lot of time making semi-transparent work that engaged with the glass pane or became another ‘layer’ in the view. In this film, Lauren poses questions about how a lens, screen or viewfinder might change what we see and how we see it. Editing by Duncan Marquiss.
