Textile – Free Style with Hrafnhildur Halldórsdóttir

In this workshop we will use threads, cords and textiles to make sculpural objects. We will start by exporing the site for natural elements like stones and sticks to use as the base for our object, and then we will use various techniques like weaving and knotting and painting directly onto the textile to create a sculptural object. This can be a wall-hanging or a small standing object.

Rewildings! with Lauren Gault

Rewilding is a current theme in discussions around conservation and the shape of the British countryside! Scientists have been thinking through the possibilities of bringing extinct creatures back into and converting common agricultural land into new ‘wild space’!

But what would this look like? what animals would be considered? and what hybrid animals might be created as previously extinct animals evolve.

Using clay and other materials we will design and create a new re-wilded domestic creature that would live in the Cove Park ‘Wildscape’.

This free workshop is open to all young people in secondary school. We are able to help with transport if required.
