Visual artist Emmie McLuskey has recently returned from her residency on the Scotland/Japan Residency Exchange Programme, developed by Cove Park, Edinburgh Sculpture Workshop and Hospitalfield in partnership with the Japanese residency organisations AIT, ARCUS Project, TOKAS and CRIA. Prior to this residency, Emmie took part in a Cove Park Internship Project in 2013 and has subsequently taken part in a number of collaborative residencies.

This film introduces us to Emmie’s work and gives an insight into her recent residency with ARCUS Project in Japan, organised by Hospitalfield with the partners in Scotland. She also introduces us to a craft process using traditional Japanese imagery, a technique everyone can try at home.

This film was edited by Duncan Marquiss and our thanks go to Paul Hamlyn Foundation and Young Start. The Scotland/Japan Residency Exchange Programme was made possible with support from British Council Scotland, Creative Scotland, The Daiwa Anglo-Japanese Foundation and The Great Britain Sasakawa Foundation.
