Lou Kramskoy graduated from the MA Creative Writing at Birkbeck in 2018, where she was awarded the Birkbeck / Sophie Warne Fellowship (joint recipient). She was also winner of the Birkbeck Creative Writing Award for Best Dissertation. Her story “Glassblower’s Lung” won the 2017 Aesthetica Creative Writing Award. She has also had stories longlisted for the London (2018) and Bristol (2017) short story prizes. Recent print publications include The Mechanics’ Institute Review 15, an Anthology showcasing new voices coming out of the UK, and also “Dark Birdy Eyes” published by TSS online. Having completed her first collection of short stories, Lou is coming to Cove Park to focus on her novel, The Hot House. Set in the eighties, the novel draws heavily on her own childhood growing up in a north London Council Estate.

Lou is an animation screenwriter. She lives in London with her partner and three children.
