Katherine Ka Yi Liu is an artist-curator. She was born in Los Angeles in 1989, grew up mostly in Hong Kong and currently lives and works in Glasgow. She received a BA in Fine Art Sculpture from the University of Brighton in 2013 and an MLitt in Fine Art Practice (Sculpture) from Glasgow School of Art in 2016. From 2018 – 2020 Liu was a Committee Member at Transmission Gallery, Glasgow. Liu is one of the selected participants of Satellites Programme 2021 at Collective Gallery, Edinburgh and one of the commissioned curators of Across the City programme at Glasgow International Festival 2021. Liu will be joining the curatorial team at Bluecoat, Liverpool as a Project Curator this summer.
