Beth Cochrane is based in Edinburgh, having graduated from the University of Edinburgh’s Creative Writing Masters (distinction) and MA in English Literature. She is currently working on her first novel, which is set in a near-future dystopian society and explores an aging population, loneliness, and dignity.

Beth has been working on this novel across two years, recently finishing a first draft. Her practise has relied on being able to find solitude, as isolation is a key theme in her work. She is inspired by writers such as Kazuo Ishiguro, JG Ballard, and surrealist Leonora Carrington.
