Saturday Studios – Finger Knitting

Join us for a drop-in finger knitting session where all you need are your hands. This technique doesn’t require needles so it’s perfect to take home and continue in your own time.

Knitting is one of the oldest crafts in the world, passed down through generations by hand and by word of mouth. In the spirit of this year’s Doors Open Day Theme, Heritage at Risk, we’re inviting you to come along, give it a try and become hooked on knitting!  Finger knitting is a great introduction to the craft and it’s a perfect way to feel the rhythm and meditative quality of knitting for the first time.

Seasoned knitters can take their skills further by giving arm knitting a try.

Come for ten minutes or stay for an hour. All ages welcome. All materials provided. Book the drop in times that suit you best.  Everything will be provided and no prior experience is needed but please dress appropriately for the weather.

If you have questions about workshop accessibility, please get in touch with Emma Henderson (Curator of Engagement).
