Heather Marshall

Heather Marshall (she/her) is a queer, disabled artist, writer and facilitator. She often works under the company name Creative Electric where she creates theatre, live and visual art with and for people that may not traditionally engage in the arts due to social, physical and/or financial barriers.
She participated in Cove Park’s carer’s residency in March 2024 and was delighted to return later in the year to facilitate weekly arts activism sessions for Project Studio, Cove Park’s engagement project for young artists.
Heather was recently awarded funding from Creative Scotland to stage her adaption of Medusa, written in Contemporary Scots, which challenges the myth that Medusa was a monster, whilst exploring the impact of hormones upon a menstruating person’s body.Medusa was produced at Summerhall in Autumn 2025.
Her most recent work Burst featured as part of the Made in Scotland 2025 programme in the Edinburgh Fringe. Burst is performed in English, Arabic, Farsi and Ukrainian and has been supported by Refuweegee and Tiny Changes.
Heather recently wrapped on a two year research programme with ITAC and the Lincoln Centre, New York which explores global disability culture, the results of which were presented at the Big Umbrella Festival, NYC and ITAC7, Auckland. She regularly works as an access consultant and facilitates workshops with clients including Provan Hall, The Bartol Foundation Philadelphia, Fife Contemporary and The International Teaching Artist Conference.
