Christina Sporrong

Christina Sporrong is an interdisciplinary artist, metal sculptor and welding and blacksmithing teacher. She spent most of her career living and working in Taos, New Mexico, where she had the space and resources in her shop, Spitfire Forge, to build large scale sculpture.
She uses size, fire, sound and movement to provoke a reaction and interaction with her work. Her sculptures have been exhibited across the United States including at the Burning Man Festival in Nevada, Maker Faire in San Mateo, and Meow Wolf in Santa Fe. In Europe, her work has been exhibited at the Glastonbury Festival, and Chatsworth House in the UK, as well as Zagreb, Berlin, Lisbon, and Malmö, Sweden.
She is currently working on a series of steel creatures that incorporate whistling sounds using the wind. She will be showing some of this work in the summer of 2026 in Southern Sweden. Christina Studied at Parsons School of Design in NYC, and lives and works on a charming old farm in Southern Sweden with her family.
