Luke Pell
Duration
Luke Pell is a maker, living in Scotland, tending to space. For possibility, for re-remembering, for careful conversation, imagination & emergence.
Often a companion in practice to other artists and arts organisations – as dramaturge, facilitator, writer, researcher – they collaborate in projects and processes that attend to alterity, with hope of effecting embodied change in the ways people encounter, engage with and reconsider death, dying and loss; queer and disabled cultures and experiences; interdependence, community and care.
Formerly Head of Learning & Research with Candoco Dance Company and Artist Support Programme Facilitator at The Work Room (Glasgow) they are a long-term associate of performance company Fevered Sleep and Janice Parker Projects, as well as one of Cove Park’s Founding Associates.
Most recently, Luke has accompanied peformance artists and choreoraphers K.Biff, Claire Cunningham, Romany Dear, Farah Saleh, Gail Sneddon and Jonathan Watkins in processes of research and creation. Since 2023, they have been a part-time Research Associate at the HZT (Inter-university Dance Centre) Berlin. From April 2026, they will be focussing on inter-medial artistic research, choreographic and dance dramaturgy in the UK.
Luke will be using their time at Cove towards preparing a new body of writing/performance that explores dramaturgies of dying, alongside some other artist support activities for 2026 at home in Scotland.
