Inês is an award-winning Portuguese violinist and a graduate of the Royal Conservatoire of Scotland, where she earned an Artist Diploma, Master’s degree, and a First-Class Honours Bachelor’s degree, studying under Professor Andrea Gajic and Maya Iwabuchi.

Over the past seven years in Glasgow, Inês has performed with many of Scotland’s leading ensembles, including the Royal Scottish National Orchestra (RSNO), Hebrides Ensemble, BBC Scottish Symphony Orchestra (BBC SSO), and the Scottish Ensemble. Her orchestral experience includes selection for the BBC SSO Orchestral Mentorship Scheme (2022–23), and appointment as principal second violin in the RSNO/RCS side-by-side project (June 2024). She was also invited to collaborate with the Hebrides Ensemble for two consecutive years and featured as a soloist in the Scottish Ensemble/RCS side-by-side project in January 2024.

Inês has frequently served as concertmaster at RCS, leading under renowned conductors such as Vassily Sinaisky and Martyn Brabbins. Her artistic work spans chamber music, and interdisciplinary collaboration with actors and dancers. Passionate about contemporary and lesser-known repertoire, and defying the conventional concert format, she is especially interested in storytelling and the intersection between music and theatre. Her creative approach seeks to deliver concert experiences that are both memorable and deeply engaging for audiences and performers alike.
