
Harriina Räinä

Harriina Räinä is a research-oriented visual artist based in Helsinki, Finland. Her work explores themes such as corporeality, observation dynamics, and human-animal relationships. She is interested in the connections between artists, locations, materials, and tools. Harriina holds a master’s degree in fine arts from the University of the Arts Helsinki (2019).
Her recent projects include examining oysters’ agency and shell appearance (Volatile Shells, 2023–2024), animal-based matter in woodblock printing (The Other as Matter, 2020-2022), and the material relationship between moose hunters and moose (Hunted & Visage, 2017-2019).
Harriina has exhibited at Oksasenkatu 11 (solo, 2024), Titanik gallery (duo, 2023), Photographic Gallery Hippolyte Studio (solo, 2023), and Helsinki Art Museum HAM (solo, 2022). Her work has been funded by institutions such as the Arts Promotion Centre Finland (2020–24), Olga and Vilho Linnamo Foundation (2022), and Kone Foundation (2019, 2021, 2023). She has participated in residencies at Cité Internationale des Arts in Paris (2022, 2024) and Kone Foundation’s Saari Residence (2021, 2023).
