James Rigler ‘Room Service’

Cove Park’s 2011 ceramics resident James Rigler has created a new installation at Pollock House commissioned by The Lighthouse, Glasgow.  Rigler has responded to the grandeur and formality of the house in its heyday. His interventions create new narratives and offer an alternative interpretation of the house and its contents, encouraging visitors to look again at the many features and details throughout the house and gardens.  ‘Room Service’ runs from 2nd October -4th November 2012. UK Visual Arts Residency

16/05/2011 - 15/07/2011

Chris Evans

Cove Park’s UK Visual Arts Residencies support leading visual artists based in the United Kingdom. These residencies enable established artists to develop new work and make significant developments in their practice.

Chris Evans is based in London and Brussels. His projects evolve through conversations with people from diverse walks of life, selected in relation to their public life or symbolic role. Sculptures, letters, drawings & film scripts created as a result of this process are indexes of a larger structure that blurs the roles of artist & patron, genius and muse.

Following an intense period of exhibitions in centres such as Maastricht, Ljubljana, Antwerp and Amsterdam, this two-month residency will allow Evans to focus on his studio practice and to develop a new series of works. In collaboration with Will Holder (a Cove Park resident in 2010), Evans will also complete work on a forthcoming publication.
