Samantha Clark is an artist and writer based in Orkney. Her first book The Clearing: A Memoir of Art, Family and Mental Health was published by Little, Brown in March 2020. Sam’s writing has emerged gradually out of her visual art practice and explores similiar concerns. During her residency at Cove Park she plans to work on a new creative nonfiction book , Long Shore Drift, which explores the personal meanings and wider significance of the shoreline as a porous and ever-shifting boundary where land, water and air all meet and mingle.
