Cove Park’s first Printmaking Residency will take place in November 2017. This pilot residency has been developed in partnership with Glasgow Print Studio.

Following a call for applications to members of Glasgow Print Studio, the residency was awarded to Bronwen Sleigh. Bronwen works in printmaking, drawing and sculpture. Taking inspiration from a range of urban architectural forms and manmade structures, she is interested in attitudes to space as expressed through architecture and its relationship to landscape. She uses etching, lithography and drawing with a variety of media to create abstract, geometric, layered landscapes containing multiple formal elements with an intensity of line, form and colour.

Bronwen will use this two-week residency as an opportunity to reflect upon and further understand work she has been developing this year. This has seen Bronwen experimenting with making cast objects from paster and cement, using inked etching plates as part of the moulds, aiming to transfer etched images onto 3D objects.
