The Canadian visual artist Megan Rooney was based at Cove Park in March 2017 and returns for a second residency in September this year.

On behalf of MAP (a non-profit organisation dedicated to the discussion and support of artist-led publishing and production), the Glasgow-based curator and writer Louise Briggs has invited Megan to present a major new work that will offer a series of concurrent interactions throughout the coming months. For this commission, Rooney will create a mise-en-scene with writing at its core; an over-arching narrative that connects performance, publication on and off line, audio broadcast, film and sculptural installation.

Cove Park is pleased to have this opportunity to work with Megan, Louise and MAP and to host the first performance of ‘Others got wings for flying’ on Saturday 30 September from 3 – 6pm (the second will take place on 7 December at Tramway, Glasgow). The Tramway performance will also coincide with an exhibition (from 28 October – 10 December 2017). To reserve your free ticket for the Cove Park event, please click here.

This MAP project is in partnership with Cove Park and Tramway and is generously supported by Creative Scotland and Canada Arts Council.
