Lesley Wilson is Associate Artist at Perth Theatre and an award-winning playwright who lives in Perthshire. Her work has been read and performed at Perth Theatre, The Traverse, The Tron, Birnam Arts and Edinburgh Festival Fringe. Lesley was mentored in 2012 by Playwrights’ Studio Scotland and her writing has been shortlisted for The Kenneth Branagh Windsor Fringe New Writing Award, Scotland’s Short Play Award and longlisted for Theatre 503 Playwriting Award. Lesley is also Writer in Residence at Rivendell Care Home and Lead Writer for the Playwrights’ Studio Scotland National Playwright Development Programme- Perth and Kinross, working in collaboration with Perth Theatre, Pitlochry Festival Theatre and Birnam Arts.

In 2017 she was awarded a place on the Luminate and Magnetic North, Emerging Older Artists Lab at Cove Park which resulted in a collaborative cross-art immersive installation, Timefield, which was exhibited at Platform in May 2019.

Theatre productions include; A Woman, A Crow, A Giant and A Field (Tron Theatre), WIRED (Edinburgh Fringe 2017 and 2018, In Her Own Words (Birnam Arts), And Another Thing…In Her Own Words 2 (Birnam Arts and Perth Theatre)

Lesley will be spending her time at Cove Park developing her play for Perth Theatre, which tells the stories of the invisible army of older carers who work tirelessly across Scotland to look after loved ones at home.
