Cove Park’s International Crafts programme expresses our commitment to supporting established international designer/makers and creating ways in which these individuals can engage with artists, organizations and audiences in Scotland. Previous international craft residents include Hilda Hellstrom, Carolina Apolonia, Johannes Nagel and Tilleke Schwartz.
Nick Ross is a product designer based in Sweden. His work focuses on questioning the role of the designer within a larger context and how designed objects can be used as vessels of information.
On residency at Cove Park Ross intends to research ‘ceramic cultures’ focusing on early ceramics through the lens of interpretive archaeology and learning the techniques and skills evolved in the creation of ceramic goods. He also aims to develop his work using stone by working with a local stonemason.
