Robin Haig is a writer/director from the Scottish Highlands. Her stories, both fiction and documentary, focus on human connectedness and examine our relationship with self, each other and the land. Her recent film Hula, starring Blyth Duff, won a BAFTA Scotland New Talent Award for Drama, has been nominated for a Celtic Media Award and won the Scottish Audience Award at this year’s Glasgow Short Film Festival. Robin has been nominated twice previously for BAFTA Scotland New Talent Awards, Best Director and Best New Work, for her directorial debut Dear Dad. Her UK Film Council/Scottish Screen funded short Saltmark was nominated for Best Newcomer at Rushes Soho Shorts Festival.

Robin will use her time at the residency to explore and develop the stories for a trilogy of feature films inspired by a significant period in Scottish history. During the process she will collaborate with historian Professor James Hunter and story developer Sarah Golding.
