Robbie Thomson is a Glasgow based artist and theatre maker with interests in kinetic sculpture, music, lighting design and technology.

Recent works include: The New Alps – an installation commissioned for Sonica 2015, inspired by post-industrial landscapes and XFRMR (2015) – an AV performance for musical Tesla coil and synths.

In 2011 Thomson was a co-founder of the Glue Factory, an independent arts venue in Glasgow and in 2013 he became an Associate Artist with Cryptic. Thomson also worked closely with theatre company Untitled Projects on their last two major productions.

Since 2012 he has worked with Bassline Circus as an AV designer at festivals in Germany and England.

His work has been shown at venues including the ICA, Festival De Keuze, Barbican, CCA, Shunt, Fusion Festival, Tramway, Summerhall, Glasgow Sculpture Studios, The Arches, Transmission Gallery and Kings Place.
