Cowal is one of Argyll and Bute’s most striking peninsulas and is visible from Cove Park. This series of residencies, for artists based on the peninsula, has been developed in partnership with the Cowal-based organisation Dunoon Burgh Hall.

Jackie Stevenson graduated from Glasgow School of Art (Drawing and Painting) in 1978. In 2003 she opened a small studio and gallery space in Wheathampstead, Hertfordshire, running workshops and community exhibitions. She subsequently worked from the Biscuit Factory Studios in Newcastle before relocating to Cowal in 2016. Her work is landscape-based, capturing the colours, moods and textures of the west of Scotland, using sketches of the environment to develop and explore new ways of using water-based media.
