At the heart of this residency is a local heritage project which will contribute to the celebration of the 50th anniversary of Rosneath Primary School in Argyll & Bute. The project will be led by previous Cove Park resident Linda Florence and is supported by the Heritage Lottery Fund.

Florence is a surface pattern designer and as Cove Park’s artist in residence has been appointed because of her particular practice inspired by history, stories, places and her extensive experience in community engagement projects, which encourage the learning and sharing of heritage through creative practice.

Based at Cove Park for 4 weeks Florence will work in the school to deliver a series of workshops, which will encourage and develop the school pupil’s skills as investigators, introducing them to new creative skills and new ways to approach research and presentation. The residency aspect will provide the artist with the unique opportunity of spending a concentrated period of time planning and developing this education project while also having the time and space to consider their own practice.
