Cove Park offers funded residencies throughout the year. These opportunities are awarded following an open call and application process, or via nomination and direct invitation. Residents are given the time, space, freedom and financial support to concentrate upon the development of their own work. This programme supports those wishing to focus upon specific projects and those aiming to develop new ideas without the demands of deadlines or public presentation. This is enhanced through a series of events designed to promote discussion between all the artists on residency.

Residents receive a fee, private and self-catering accommodation, workspace and, if required, a studio. All artists have 24-hour access to Cove Park’s Jacobs Building and its communal spaces, kitchen and library.

Please visit the Artists  page for details or our current and forthcoming residency programmes.

A New Approach to our Funded Residencies Programme

2023 sees a new approach to our funded residencies, specifically the move from a one year to a two-year programming cycle. This means funded residencies awarded this year will take place in 2023 and in 2024. Our aim is to work more sustainably, to support the individuals and collaborations we work with over a longer period of time and, for international artists in particular, to build in slow travel when possible. A number of the residencies for UK-based artists will take place over two years, and longer residencies for national and international creative practitioners will create more opportunities for our residents to connect with our local and wider communities.

The next open call for applications to our funded programme will be made in Autumn of 2024.
