Cove Park Open Day

SATURDAY 20 AUGUST FROM 2.00 PM

A free event for everyone to enjoy our beautiful 50 acres overlooking Loch Long, especially those with an interest in the arts, crafts and literature. Families are most welcome with childrens’ activities planned throughout the afternoon.

The band will be performing live from 5.30 pm, bringing a little bit of Havana to Cove Park. They are a five piece Cuban band guaranteed to get your feet tapping!

 

Meet the Writers
Jo Shapcott, Olufemi Terry, Rodge Glass and Paul Martin will read from their work and answer questions in an event chaired by the poet Polly Clark. Jo Shapcott is the Costa Prize winning poet and author of On Mutability, Olufemi Terry is the 2010 winner of the Caine Prize for African writing, Rodge Glass is the author of a prizewinning biography of Alasdair Gray and Paul Martin is the 2011 Birkbeck Fellow at Cove Park.

 

Meet the Artists
Visual Artist Takahiro Iwasaki, Jeweller Lina Peterson and Ceramic Artist James Rigler will be in their studios discussing work produced at Cove Park. Takahiro is based in Hiroshima and exhibits his work internationally. Lina was awarded the ‘Jerwood Makers Award’ in 2010. James’s ceramic work incorporates both domestic and architectural influences. He exhibits in the UK and abroad.
