Ceramic building and Kiln Firing – with Hannah Ayre

Tuesday 6th August 10.00am – 12.00pm at Cove Park

Join participatory artist Hannah Ayre for a ceramics workshop. Get messy with clay while learning various hand-building techniqes.

Join us again the following week for a celebration and to see your work fired using and eye catching outdoor “paper kiln”. The flames will create a smoky effect on the body of your work.

This workhop is open to all family groups, children of all ages are welcome and will work with their accompanying adult. Please reserve a place for each individual attending. One adult may bring up to three children uless otherwise arranged.

Week 1 – 6th August: Clothing will get dirty! Clay dust washes out easily, though wearing dark colours is recommended to avoid pigment stains.

All materials will be supplied, however, newspapers would be gratefully received to incorporate into building the kiln.

Week 2 – 13th August: We will fire the kiln in fine or slightly damp weather, so outdoor clothing and footwear is needed.

Priority on places will be given to those who can attend both the ceramics workshop and the kiln firing on the 13th.  Please book your place at the kiln firing here: https://www.eventbrite.co.uk/e/summer-studio-13th-august-for-participants-of-the-previous-workshop-tickets-63337198265
