Saturday 31st August 2019 10.00am – 4.00pm at Cove Park

Morning: Studies in Silver – Make a silver ring with Scarlett French

Come and learn some metal work techniques with jewellery designer and past Cove Park resident Scarlett French.

In this workshop we will experiment with texturing metal with special hammers and forming them into rings. Firstly you’ll make a mock up ring design in copper – and then, recreate it in sterling silver. At the end of the day you’ll be taking home your very own hand made silver ring.

Afternoon: Text, Image and Print – With Maeve Redmond

Join graphic designer Maeve Redmond in this screen printing workshop, where we will work with words and block colour layering.

Beginning by looking at the work of Sister Corita Kent and Barbara Kruger, we will explore the powerful combination of text and image. We will develop designs to explore the screen printing process and create posters to take home.

Please bring a packed lunch, drinks and fruit will be provided for snacks

This free workshop is open to all young people in secondary school. We are able to help with transport if required.
