‘Legacy’, Roderick Buchanan

Current visual arts resident Roderick Buchanan’s exhibition, ‘Legacy, at the Scottish National Portrait Gallery continues until 16 September. The exhibition centres on two films, entitled Scots Irish / Irish Scots. Displayed simultaneously, the films follow two Glasgow bands, the Black Skull Corps of Fife and the Parkhead Republican Flute Band, both grass root organisations living today with the legacy of the Good Friday Agreement.

Tools for Actions – Linda Brothwell

2012 Crafts resident Linda Brothwell has just launched a new website – Tools for Actions – created during her recent six-week residency. The website documents an ongoing research project about traditional craft practices. Focusing on the craft person, craft techniques and tools, the site brings together images, video and interviews from Brothwell’s travels within the UK during 2012.

One-to-One Residencies

Cove Park’s new One-to-One programme will continue during August and September this year. Two collaborative residencies will take place during these months: visual artists Ilana Halperin and Kellly Dobson, followed by visual artists Matt Keegan and James Richards. The response to this programme from all the artists involved to date has been very positive and encouraging, and we look forward to developing future One-to-One residencies in 2013.
