Zayneb Allak has spent most of her working life since university as a teacher, for a short while in the UK but mostly overseas – in Asia, Europe and the Middle East. She started writing three years ago, for an MA in Creative Writing, experimenting with fiction and poetry.  She is now doing a PhD in Creative Writing and trying to write a collection of poetry for her thesis.  It explores some of her experiences of travel – she interested in how it feels to be a traveller, to be moving towards a destination that you never quite reach, and how you often come across things or experiences that seem familiar, even in the most unfamiliar places.
