Sophie Mallett graduated from USYD Conservatorium, Australia, in 2009 (receiving a BA in Music Studies & Arts). She has since studied at both the University of Arts (receiving an MA in Sound Art) and Open School East, London.
Mallett is an artist exploring sound through the social, and the social through sound. She repurposes music, radio and documentary to pursue a practice focused on sounds’ intersection with affect, politics and value. Her approach to making is rooted in collaboration and co-production with a reflexive emphasis on how artists and others can work together.
