Ruth Claxton (born 1971, Ipswich) lives and works in Birmingham. She received her BA in Fine Art from Nottingham Trent University and went on to receive an MA in Sculpture from the Royal College of Art, London. Recent solo exhibitions include: ‘Synthetic Worlds’, 2011, SITE, Santa Fe; ‘Postcards’, 2011, Small Collections, Nottingham Contemporary; ‘The Unseen’, 2012 Guangzhou Triennial and ‘Specular Spectacular’, 2013, Pippy Houldsworth, London. She is Associate Director of Eastside Projects, a free public space in Birmingham that is being imagined and organised by artists.
