Born 1984, lives and works in Glasgow.
Following a BA (Hons) in Fine Art at Duncan and Jordanstone College of Art and Design, Dundee, Ross Hamilton Frew completed an MA in Art Museum and Gallery Studies at the University of Newcastle.
Frew produces both drawings and paintings. His practice to date has been confined to the parameters of the page and he frequently employs a hatching technique to emphasise the simplicity of form, with human error inevitably intercepting and shaping the outcome of individual works. In recent works Frew has also introduced a subtle sculptural element alongside a growing interest in incorporating growth patterns and landscape within his pattern making.
