Piers Blaikie is Emeritus Professor at the School of International Development, University of East Anglia. He has had forty years of teaching and researching in India, Nepal and central Africa, mainly on environmental issues such as forestry, participation in local management and national parks. He was born and has lived in Scotland for 25 years and has maintained a property in the Highlands for 40 years.
