Marie Toseland studied at the University of the West of England from 2007-2010 (receiving a BA in Art and Visual Culture), Open School East and on the postgraduate programme at the Royal Academy Schools, London.
Toseland’s practice incorporates a wide range of media. The artist produces objects, images and texts that work together and in relation to each other in a way that has been described as exploring ‘…the tension between contrasting notions of stillness and spectacle, and tangibility and transience.’ Toseland frequently works in collaboration with other artists including Andrew Lacon, Paul Maheke and Sophie Mallett.
