Print, Textile Artist
Laura Slater lives and works in Wakefield, West Yorkshire. She studied Multi- Media Textiles at Loughborough University in 2002-05 and went on to graduate from an MA in Mixed Media Textiles at the Royal College of Art in 2007.
As a printed textile designer she is occupied with how we engage with pattern and its ability to connect us with our environment and our surrounding objects. She explores this through experimental approach to process and materials and creates accessible interactive products for interior spaces. As well as developing her own collections, which she sells to a national and international market Slater also works on projects and commissions that include a collaborative womenswear collection for Kin by John Lewis and a collaborative project engaging artists to work with the Textile Archive at the V&A, London in 2016.
