Born 1983, Cardiff, lives and works in London.
James Richards studied Fine Art at Chelsea School of Art and Design, London, and attended the LUX Associate Artist programme in 2008/2009.
Richards works with moving image, installation and sculpture, paying particular attention to the way the work is displayed, the presentation equipment and orientation in relation to the audience. He works with video by mixing and editing archival and self-generated images and sounds, presenting them along with ready-made and fabricated objects to create installations that carry dramatic tension and open, associative narratives.
