Ishy Din’s first piece was John Barnes Saved My Life for BBC Radio 5 Live, he has since written Life’s Like That for the BBC Series Brief Encounters, Parking and Pakoras for local radio and was runner-up in the BANG! (British Asian New Generation) competition. His play Snookered was produced by Tamasha/Old Coliseum/The Bush and toured in 2012 taking in the Traverse Edinburgh and a 4 week run at the Bush Theatre, London. Currently he is writing the second in a trilogy of plays for the Tamasha. Ishy is the 2012 Pearson Writer in Residence at the Manchester Royal Exchange. Paul Vallely in his 5 star review for The Independent said Snookered was ‘the most accomplished and assured first play I have seen for years.’, and Joyce McMillan in her 4 star review in The Scotsman called it ‘a powerful and satisfying drama.’
