Isabella Martin lives and works between Norwich and Copenhagen. She graduated from the University of Brighton with a BA(Hons) in Fine Art Sculpture in 2010.
Isabella is a multidisciplinary artist who explores how we fit in the world and how we relate to the spaces around us. She uses language as a means of navigation, in an approach shaped by questioning, conversation and collaboration. Her work is context-specific, driven by a synthesis between experimental play and active research, working closely with people and places to see what happens.
Martin has exhibited her work extensively across the UK and her work within an educational context includes roles as Lead Artist on the Education BA Creativity & Learning Module at University of East Anglia, Norwich, as Associate Artist at Firstsite Gallery, Colchester, Artist in Residence at St Swithun’s and Isle of Ely schools, Artist Educator with Wysing Arts Centre, Bourn, Kettles Yard, Cambridge and Sainsbury Centre for Visual Arts.
