Born Chorley, Lancashire 1973.  Lives and works in Plockton in the Highlands of Scotland
Since graduating from Loughborough College of Art and Design with a BA Honours in Silversmithing and Jewellery Gilly has established her jewelry practice and shows her work in exhibitions and fairs throughout the UK and Internationally including SOFA Chigago, Origin London and Eu-nique Germany.
Taking inspiration from her home town the fishing village of Plockton, Gilly references nautical architecture such as ropes & pullies on board yachts and safety rings on jetties in both their forms and colours and incorporates materials with contrasting properties reflecting the strength and struggle of a sea faring way of life.  She challenges the properties of control and resilience with minimal aesthetics, creating dramatic pieces of beauty, strength and texture.
