Born Blackpool, 1977, lives and works in London.
Gemma’s work crosses the boundaries between art and design. After a degree in Interactive Arts at Manchester Metropolitan University, she studied Design Products at the Royal College of Art, London. Her practice combines conceptual and functional concerns, engaging with everyday objects such as biros, rulers and sheets of paper, manipulating the banal to reveal something unique about objects we take for granted.
