Born Darvel, Ayrshire, 1965. Lives and works in Kilcreggan, Scotland.
Christine Borland’s work explores conventional perceptions of morality through an investigative process, validated with historical evidence. Borland’s print for the first Cove Park Portfolio reflects her study of ethics and the consequences of medical decision-making and alludes to anatomy through its study of branch-like networks, in particular bronchial structures.  It directly follows the work she developed during a residency at Glenfiddich Distillery in 2004, and through a three year NESTA fellowship awarded to the artist in May 2006. Borland was short-listed for the Turner Prize in 1997.
